Meet the Founder - Holly Petersen
Holly, the founder of Naomi Living, is passionate about life. Holly earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York - a Bachelors in Health Sciences with a Minor in Psychology in 2008 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010.
For the first eight years of Holly’s career in healthcare, she worked as a highly sought after physical therapist in the outpatient orthopedic setting, seeing thousands of patient visits and earning a promotion to Center Manager in two years. Holly coached her patients through their rehabilitation journey by understanding and aligning their care goals, developing individualized treatment plans, and engaging in consistent check-ins to modify and adapt plans to ensure goal attainment and optimal outcomes.
After the birth of her first daughter in 2015, Holly changed practices in order to be closer to home and transition to a part-time position. While at the new practice, she identified a gap in support for providers when navigating insurance guidelines and regulations. In service of making an impact, she created a new role to advise and counsel the corporate team on how to improve the practitioner and patient experiences. After the birth of her second daughter, she stepped into her newly created position of Assistant Compliance Officer.
After less than a year, Holly earned a promotion to Director of Operational Excellence and Compliance, another role uniquely crafted for her based on the needs of the business. Holly was recognized for her effective leadership, influencing ability as well as resourcefulness required to identify gaps within the company. She was able to successfully create, upgrade, and cultivate processes leading to improved efficiency and systemic change. Through this transformational journey, Holly grew the department from a team of one to five members in less than two years. As a valued member of the leadership team, she collaborated closely with executives on establishing and accomplishing quarterly and annual goals for both her department and the company.
Holly was inspired by coaching her team in accomplishing their goals and consistently delivering and exceeding the desired outcomes. During her tenure in her corporate position, Holly was nominated two times for the Core Value Award, an annual award given to an employee who exemplified the following values: growth-oriented, compassion, teamwork, health & wellness, and service excellence. Highlighted in her nominations were her dedication to the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) an annual bike-a-thon to raise money for cancer research and her passion for personal health and wellness.
When Holly is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam, and their two energetic daughters at their home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. She also enjoys being a lifelong student and remaining active through biking and functional fitness.
